Chris Fearne in isolation after family member tests positive for COVID-19

 

Health Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne is self-isolating after a member of his family tested positive for COVID-19.

The Health Ministry said in a statement that Fearne has not tested positive for the virus, but will be following the health authorities’ measures regardless and will work from home.

First Lady Miriam Vella hospitalised after developing symptoms of pneumonia 

 

Miriam Vella, the wife of President of Malta George Vella, is in hospital for observation after developing symptoms of pneumonia.

Vella was admitted to Mater Dei Hospital on Monday evening.

We wish her a speedy recovery!

Malta eases ban on unvaccinated travellers hours before restriction was due to come into force

 

Malta has eased an outright ban on unvaccinated travellers entering the country, instead requiring that they undergo mandatory quarantine on arrival.

The compromise comes hours before the new restrictions were due to come into force and follows criticism from the European Commission that they were discriminatory.

Christian Peregin to exit Lovin Malta and join the Nationalist Party

 

Christian Peregin has stepped down as CEO of Lovin Malta with immediate effect and has triggered a process to exit the company completely.

Peregin, who founded Lovin Malta five years ago, will be joining the Nationalist Party to take a position in a role of strategic support.
