Students participating in JAYE with a project to reduce cars on the road

JAYE - i-Van

A group of students have been participating in the yearly Junior Achievement Young Enterprise and have come up with a cool concept which aims at reducing the number of cars on the road.

Behind this idea are none other than Andy Wadge (Managing Director), Daniel Briffa (Chief Technical Officer), Benjamin Borg (Finance Director), and Christian Delia (Marketing Manager).

Their mini-company is called ‘i-Van’ – an app which provides ways how students can be aware of the school vans around with the ability to track them live on the map.

Moreover, the i-Van app includes an attendance tracker which would reduce any miscommunication between the student and the driver of the van. It also notifies the student whenever their van is in their neighbourhood.

This project has already launched for a number of vans travelling to and from the De La Salle College in Birgu, with the team hoping to extend this service beyond this College very soon.
