With us getting closer and closer to the end of the year, speculation starts to grow around the latest tech releases, one of the most prominent being that of the Samsung Galaxy S22.
The expected release date of Samsung’s latest smartphone is on February 8 2022, with pre-orders also starting on that same day, with it going on sale on February 18, according to widespread reports.
Additionally, Samsung will also release the Galaxy S21 FE on January 4 2022.
The expected prices of the S22 range are set to be similar to the S21 range’s, with the S22 set to be €849 ($799/£769), while the S22 Plus and S22 Ultra will be €1,049 ($999/£949) and €1,249 ($1,199/£1,149) respectively.
Seeing as the S21 range saw a reduction in prices from the previous generation of smartphones, it is highly unlikely that another reduction will take place.

The range is set to maintain a similar set of designs to that of its predecessor, with rumours of it having slightly smaller dimensions.
The most prominent change that could be coming is an under-display camera, something that received mixed reviews when it debuted in the Galaxy Z Fold 3, with this allowing for a true full-screen design without the punch hole camera at the top of the display.
However, this is still a rumour, with other reports claiming that the mixed reviews received by the Galaxy Z Fold 3 could result in Samsung taking it slow with this highly sophisticated piece of technology.
In terms of their cameras, the S22 and S22 Plus are set to get upgraded main and telephoto rear cameras, both making use of a 50MP main camera, with tests also being carried out on the ability to shoot 8K video at 60fps for the S22, a huge improvement on the S21’s 24fps for 8K video.
A concept render of the S22 from LetsGoDigital also highlighted possible design changes, including a massive main camera that is flanked by four smaller sensors, as well as an active cooling system.
The likeliest colour schemes are set to be black, green, pink gold and white varieties for the S22 and S22 Plus, while the S22 Ultra will be available in black, green, white and also in dark red.
The main chip that will most likely be used for the S22 is the recently unveiled Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, while the S22 Plus will most likely use the next-generation Snapdragon chip, but these are mainly rumours.

One of the biggest rumours is based on the range’s charging. Samsung might be set to re-introduce highs of 65W fast charging with the S22, with the company reportedly testing out 25W, 45W and 65W charging.
The S22 will most likely have a 3,800 mAh battery, while the S22 Plus and the S22 Ultra will have 4,600 mAh and 5,000 mAh batteries respectively.
At the end of the day, these are mainly coming from reports from different tech websites, so it all has to be confirmed by Samsung when it is actually launched, but things are looking very bright for avid Samsung enthusiasts!
