Apple's September 2021 Event has provided the world of Apple fanbois with a slew of new products from its mobile ecosystem.
New iPhone lines, iPads and Apple Watch were undoubtedly the highlight of this live streamed event by the Cupertino Giant.
So what are we looking at exactly?
Well, I'm glad you've asked!
iPad
Apple announced the new iPad which will boast an A13 processor and 12MP front-facing camera, while revamping its smaller variant, the iPad Mini.
The iPad Mini will replace the physical Touch ID button and integrate its fingerprint sensors within the lock button. It will take more from the design of the iPhone 12 and will also include a stereo sound system, as well as a 12MP rear camera.
iPhone
Needless to say, the item which stole the show was by any doubt the iPhone 13. iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone Pro and iPhone Pro Max are four new models which will be superseding their iPhone 12 counterparts. The iPhone 13 will be bringing a faster processor, better battery life, a restructured 'notch', and 12MP wide-angle camera lenses. Apple put effort into improving their products' battery life this year - in fact, the iPhone 13 mini will also be benefiting from this.
The iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max will keep their previous model's screen size, but will introduce a new colour - Sierra Blue. Undoubtedly, the Pro versions come with a much more sophisticated display with Apple's 'Super Retina XDR with ProMotion' display being a staple feature of these models. The camera rig in the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max come with a number of additional features such as zoom lenses, wide lenses and ultra-wide angle capabilities.
Apple Watch 7
Last thing on our list is the new Watch. Apple announced the faster-charging Apple Watch 7, coming to as yet an undefined date, sometime this Autumn. This delay seems to be caused due to a hiccup on its production line. The new model will include a 20% increase in its screen real estate while implementing a much more resilient screen which will definitely minimise risks of wear / damage. As for its software, Apple made improvements to the Watch 7 in order for it to present more information on the display.
When will these be available?
According to Apple, orders for the new iPads have been made available right after the Event finished, while for the iPhones, orders started on Friday 17 September 2021. No definite date yet for the Apple Watch 7.
Of course, this will most likely vary for the Maltese market.
