Malta plans to open all schools this scholastic year, Prime Minister confirms
Prime Minister Robert Abela has confirmed that sixth forms, University, MCAST and other higher education institutes could be set to start welcoming students back on campus this upcoming scholastic year.
He said that although the COVID-19 situation could change, the current plan is for all educational institutes to reopen physically following the summer holidays.

Passengers evacuated from Gozo fast ferry due to emerging smoke
Passengers on the fast ferry on their way to Gozo from Malta had to be evacuated as a fire appeared to have broken out on board.
However, after describing the incident as a minor fire in an initial statement, the Gozo Fast Ferry operators later confirmed that a preliminary review concluded that no fire had occurred.
The company said that the smoke was due to a technical fault which triggered the fire suppression system of the vessel.

Limited standing events to return in Malta
Chris Fearne announced that fully vaccinated people will be allowed to attend standing events like concerts and festivals from September 6.
Numbers will initially be restricted to 100 people.

Malta to start giving third booster dose to immunosuppressed and elderly home residents
Health Minister Chris Fearne said that these booster shots will be given to vulnerable people starting mid-September.
A decision has not yet been taken on whether to extend it to the wider population.
