Malta’s summers are characterised with a lot of activities and events.

While many are not free to attend, you will still be amazed by other events such as local festas, festivals and even some music events that take place for free across the Islands.

This is by far the cheapest way to stay in Malta.

There are plenty of great hostels and guesthouses to choose from, and you'll be sure to meet other budget-minded travelers.

Public transportation in Malta is cheap and for the most part, efficient, so there's no need to rent a car if you're on a budget.

Keep in mind to check for what kind of bus tickets you would be needing and also taking a look at the bus schedules.

Visit during off-peak season

 

Malta is a popular tourist destination, so prices are higher during the peak season (mainly between June and August).

If you're on a budget, consider visiting during the  off-peak season such as in September or in May, when prices are usually lower.
