Halloween is literally round the corner, and since this year it will fall on a Monday, the University of Malta has decided to make it even more special by hosting a movie screening event at the KSU Common Room (just next door to the main canteen).
What shall you expect from such an event?
Well, for starters this is the first edition of ‘Shiver At UM’, which in itself is a play on the University’s year-long theme of ‘Shine At UM’.
The team has sought to create an experience out of this day. As such the decoration on Campus leading up to the KSU Common Room will be themed for the occasion.
Do look out for the figure of Mr Grim Reaper himself as he moves round the vicinity in an attempt to lure people into the spooky cinema.
The organisational team, who collaborated with KSU, kept the student’s time constraints in mind, and as such, this event will be focusing on screening short halloween-themed movies rather than longer ones.
Did we mention free popcorn?
Yes, free popcorn will be given to those attending the movie screening in an effort to put you more into the zone. You are encouraged to visit and sit down to watch the movies with your friends and best of all, this event is 100% free of charge. A first come, first served approach will be given to those who come first in a chance to get the best seats in the house, which by the way, will also include some sofa armchairs too.
Movie titles along with their screening times will be posted on the day, that is 31 October via the University’s social media and also the various digital screens across campus, with event starting at 11:00.
Any photos you post on social media can be tagged with #ShiverAtUM – the official hashtag for this year’s event!
