Easily the highest grossing of the movies on this list, Infinity War was a huge hit with both fans and critics alike.

Logan was unlike any other comic book movie we’ve seen before, as it was more similar to a modern western than your typical superhero movie.

This movie gives a much deeper look on the character we’ve grown to love in the previous X-Men movies and manages to deliver a satisfying, but melancholic ending to everyone’s favourite X-Men member.

The only Spider-Man movie to not focus on Peter Parker, Into the Spider-Verse follows Miles Morales in his first standalone movie.
This movie manages to stand out from previous Spider-Man iterations due to it being an animated movie, which isn’t as common as you would assume for comic book movies.
Into the Spider-Verse manages to be hilariously funny, thrilling while also managing to successfully introduce the idea of a multiverse to the average movie goer.
The Dark Knight

Christopher Nolan managed to do the impossible by creating a dark and gritty comic book world that feels like the one we live in.
The Dark Knight is the formula to follow if you are trying to create a modern and realistic comic book movie. Christian Bale is great as the caped crusader but it is undoubtedly Heath Ledger who steals the show as the movie’s villain, the Joker.
Nolan’s second Batman movie would go on to be nominated for 8 Oscars, going on to win two of them, including best performance by a supporting actor for Heath Ledger.
