Joining a Student Organisation: 3 reasons why

It’s never too late to join a community of likeminded people who share the same passion as you do.

This is especially true when you are at University and want to ask certain questions, discuss other topics and enjoy making new friends within the area of study that you chose at the beginning of your academic journey.

Student Organisation

To do so, there are a number of student organisations which could be found locally boasting a number of services which are often provided by students, and for students. Whether you feel philosophical or even have a flair for engineering, there is bound to be something for you.

Here are 3 reasons why you should join a student organisation

Asking

1

When in doubt, ask

It’s normal to feel lost sometimes.

Whether you find yourself unable to find the assistance you require, or have other course-related questions, a student organisation should be able to remove any doubts and set you back on track with your studies.

2

Events, events, events!

We all love a good event and these groups usually do too!

While a lot of events are organised with the particular field of study in mind, these organisations still host other types of social or leisure events. It’s another way to make new friends… possibly find that special someone!

Help out

3

Help out

Student organisations are always in need for some help, especially when events are coming up.

Do you feel like you would be of help to others in your course?

Then becoming an official representative or member could open various opportunities for you to pitch in, whenever the need arises.
