Cameras and photography technology are constantly becoming more powerful and some are becoming more expensive, ensuring you can capture the best possible picture.
However, at the end of the day you have to find the perfect camera for what you want to do and at the right price.

Are you an avid photography lover that wants to perfect the right shot, or are you simply a newcomer to the photography scene wanting a brand-new camera which helps you take great shots for a cheaper price?
As a result of this question, we have formulated a list of the top 5 cameras for you to consider in 2022, ranging from beginner cameras that are still powerful and high-performing, to ones that are more specialised or professional in their nature, always offering the best shot possible.

1
Nikon D3500
The Nikon D3500 might be one of the best beginner cameras currently available in the market.
While it is not the most advanced DSLR camera out there, its simplicity, along with the range of controls and quality of images that it produces, make it an ideal starting point for people looking to delve into the world of photography.
Despite its limitations like having a fixed rear screen that is not touch-sensitive and the camera unable to shoot 4K video, it does have a 24-megapixel sensor that produces incredibly sharp images.
You can find this model for around €550 to €650 at multiple stores across Malta.
2
Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV
Ever since its new 20MP sensor was implemented, along with a new flip-down and tilting monitor, the latest version of this classic camera is possibly the best released yet.
With it retaining its 4K video and the attractive styling that made the Mark III so popular, the mirrorless Mark IV is set to be a great camera for those starting out in photography.
While it is still quite expensive for beginners, with it being around €650 to €750, it is so much more powerful than it looks and could be a camera to keep for plenty of years.

3
Canon EOS 90D
The Canon EOS 90D is a fantastic camera that is jam-packed with features and qualities that make it one of the best DSLR cameras out there for its price, which is quite high at around €1100.
The price is worth it though… This camera has one of the highest resolutions yet seen in an APS-C sensor of 32.5MP, along with an incredibly high-speed frame rate of 10fps, also having the capability of capturing outstanding uncropped 4K video.
Its ergonomics are tremendous, making it a great tactile experience.
As a camera, it might not be the best for people starting out, but it is perfect for enthusiasts that are looking for a step-up.
4
Fujifilm X-S10
While the X-S10 doesn’t have the external exposure controls that pricier Fujifilm cameras have, it is definitely one to consider if you are a photography enthusiast.
Camera comes with stellar build quality and handling, while also including in-body stabilisation, making this one of the best APS-C mirrorless cameras of 2022.
Additionally, it has a vari-angle touchscreen, and as a camera it is relatively small in size.
With a price range of around €950 to €1100, it is definitely one to consider for those that have a background in photography.

5
GoPro Hero10 Black
Completely different from the rest of the list, the GoPro Hero 10 is the only action camera on here, with it being one of the best, if not the best, in the market.
It is able to record extremely smooth high-quality video, and is quite an upgrade on the previous GoPro Hero 9, having a new G2 processor that makes its interface very responsive and also doubles the frame rates and powers the best image stabilisation technology in 2022.
This model can record 5.3K 60p through the new HyperSmooth 4.0 video stabilisation, while also managing to capture 23-megapixel images, along with images in low-light, with it being called one of the best performing performers in low-light of any GoPro yet.
Right now, the GoPro Hero10 Black is valued at around €500 to €550, and there are also a great deal of accessories that you can buy separately that further enhance your experience, such as head mounts and selfie sticks.
Do you own any of these models, or are you looking to get one of them?
